I don’t claim to be some huge diehard hockey fan, but I do enjoy watching men beat each other up on ice from time to time, especially when it’s Stanley Cup time. Living in Chicago, naturally I am a Blackhawks fan, and they rock so hard they won a third time! My boyfriend and I went to the parade downtown the first year they won, and the sheer amount of people in one place was crazy, I can’t imagine what it was like this year! Kyle had to work, and I didn’t feel like braving the madness. So I celebrated by treating myself to getting my nails done (gasp!). I went to Glitter Nail Salon in Oak Park as I have once before and had a good experience. It’s laid back, you can tell all the women that work there enjoy working with each other and have bonds with the people I could tell must be regulars.
I only wanted to get the acrylics done, and the base color on, sorry but I’m not paying to have someone else do my nail art when I’m more than capable! Plus I had a specific idea in mind. Here’s the nails they gave me:
The thumb was shaped a little wonky, but I evened it out a little later. Oh well, she did a great job otherwise! I am so in love with that holographic silver, I am going to be buying ever holographic polish from Color Club soon. I chose a pearly white to look softer, like the old sweater jerseys.
I decided I wasn’t adventurous enough to actually try to paint the whole logo, so I chose to just do different details of their jerseys, and obviously a cup on the silver finger. Also had to represent my favorite players- shown Oduya and Hjalmarsson, the other hand had Crawford and Toews.
I don’t really remember which polishes I used to paint these, pretty sure they were all Finger Paints with a striping brush. I also don’t remember what the names of the polishes from the salon were either, but I know the red and pearl white were both OPI, and the silver as I said before was Color Club.
