Bringing “Mani Monday” back!

Hello everyone!

I know I’ve been really absent lately, but I’m going to try to get back on track with blogging, and I need to catch up on posting all the nails I’ve been doing the last couple months! I’ve been loving doing no chip manicures, especially now that I know how to do proper cuticle care to make them look extra sharp. I’m going to use Mondays to catch up on all the nails that I have done up until now, and then I’ll try to make weekly school posts on what I’ve learned and the nails that I’ve done there.

School has been amazing so far. All of my 4 teachers are super knowledgeable and are very detailed in their lessons, and I have really been enjoying how hands on it is. We go through things super fast so I’m learning a lot already. We’ve already done all the basic manicure techniques, no chips, applying acrylic extensions using both tips and nail forms, and hard gel extensions (which are totally the hardest for me so far…).

So, to get caught up, here is a no chip manicure I did on Rhonda, using LeChat Mood Changing “Smokey Haute”-

I added a little bling with a pink flower, couple diamonds and silver caviar beads for an accent. This polish changes from a brownish mocha color to a light nude that you can see on the thumb!

These nails remind me of the tan and red plaid scarves you see everyone wearing in the fall.

Steve’s Cat Hat

My coworker Steve asked me to make him a cat hat. When I asked what color, he said to match his eyes… he’s got really pretty green/brown/hazel eyes, so I think I did pretty well at picking out a yarn!

i think i learned to make dream catchers in girl scout camp, or maybe from one of those kits you buy at a craft store when you’re young. i’ve been making them for a long time, and think they just look so neat.

 

i wrapped a metal circle in blue embroidery thread, and weaved the dream catcher with brown, amber, light green, orangish frosty and yellow beads. it’s probably four or five inches across. there’s a couple feathers hanging from the bottom, a peacock, long black one and some lighter blue craft feathers.

a cluster of amber, brown, light green, and yellow glass beads on a copper wire wrapped band. the ring is probably a size 6 or 7 since i’m wearing it on my ring finger. here’s what the band looks like:

a coiled copper ring made with glass amber and brown colored beads. i wrapped the wire around itself to create a nest like appearance around the center beads. probably about a size 7 or 8, i’m wearing it on my middle finger. here’s what the band of the ring looks like:

and of course, happy thanksgiving! i’ve written this post ahead of time, but i’ll try to make a post after i get home from both dinners i have to go to! i’m planning on doing my mom’s nails 🙂
